Between Lamentations

Inside the whole stretch of the Book of Lamentations is a hidden treasure of passage which says:

But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:

22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.”

These verses unfolded from my YouVersion Bible in my phone as January 1st came. I know it is not an accident but God wanted to remind me, first, of HIS character. He is love. His steadfast love never ceases. It is overflowing. His mercies never come to an end, like never! They are new every morning. Wow. Great is His faithfulness.

Second, He wanted to remind me that He is a personal God. The Lord IS MY portion. There’s nothing better than knowing someone up close and personal. Acquaintances are shallow. But a relationship that’s tested goes deeper and deeper. Therefore, I will hope in Him. When trust becomes SOLID in a relationship, there are no more questions of truth. And in the middle of a lament you find joy, why? Because the soul has found hope.

A meaningful 2013 to all!
